Linslade Bell Ringers
Diary
Future Events, and Dates for your Diaries
Here we will be listing all the dates that Linslade Tower is open.
There are also events that Linslade Band members may also be interested in.
Unless specified as "Open tower", we recomend you contact us before visiting.
Especially if you have never been to a ringing tower before.
Plain Method Practice
At the last informal Tower Meeting we agreed on having a new type of practice on the Second Tuesday of the month. We will be ringing a wide variety of plain hunting methods. These are methods that, like Plain Bob or Grandsire, have at least one bell plain hunting.
During this practice we will not be ringing any methods which require treble bobbing, so it's ideal for people who wish to ring non-surprise methods.
Surprise Major Ringing
On the last Tuesday of every month, our regular practice turns into practice for our more advanced ringers.
Everyone is invited, but it is usually recommended that you are able to ring Cambridge Major first.
Other methods which are commonly rung include Yorkshire, Rutland, Superlative, and Bristol. If you can be ready with all the surprise eight methods then the practice is a lot more fun for everyone.
Bedfordshire Young Ringers
Once a month there is a practice that is aimed towards ringers under the age of 19. They are usually held on the fourth Sunday of every month between 2pm-4pm. There will be cake!
Regular visitors to this practice are all considered for the Young Ringers National Striking Competition. The Befordshire team are the current champions of the whitechapel trophy.
